The Muhammad Iqbal Symposium on Islamic Thought and Civilization was conceived of by members of the Muslim community in an effort to nurture a deeper understanding of the rich history and living tradition of Islamic thought and civilization and its impact on the world we share.

Our speaker for the inaugural symposium is Dr. Alan Mikhail, Professor and Chair of the Department of History at Yale University. His lecture is titled, How Islam Shaped the Life of Christopher Columbus.
